The most recent Leapfrog Hospital Safety Grades were just released today (Nov. 7, 2019) for hospitals across the nation!
You may be asking yourself, what is Leapfrog Hospital Safety Grade? The Leapfrog Hospital Safety Grades, (previously known as Hospital Safety Scores) are assigned two times per year to over 2,600 acute care hospitals across the United States. As cited in MSNBC, The New York Times, and AARP Magazine, “The Safety Grade is becoming the gold standard measure of patient safety.”
The bi-annual program measures hospitals on 28 metrics in which we are given a letter grade of A, B, C, D, or F reflecting how safe hospitals are for patients. Hospitals are measured on outcome and process measures with examples such as falls and trauma to ensure there are appropriate measures in place to keep our patients free from falls while in our care, or patient experience data in order to capture the voice of our patients.
Today, hospitals across the nation can release their letter grade to the public and we at Bristol Health have exciting news to share! We have received our FIFTH consecutive A since Fall of 2017. Bristol Health has been on a continual journey to improve our overall quality and safety; this is a true testament to that commitment to the community we serve!
