Nutrition Counseling

A Registered Dietitian is an expert in nutrition and disease who can teach you how to tailor your eating habits to improve your medical condition. Our Registered Dietitian at the Bristol Health Outpatient Nutrition Office provides nutrition counseling to pediatric and adult patients. We will work with you to develop nutrition and wellness goals to manage a variety of nutrition-related concerns and medical conditions including:

  • Weight management/Obesity
  • Hypertension
  • Diabetes/Pre-Diabetes
  • Food allergies and intolerances
  • Heart Disease
  • Chronic Kidney Disease
  • Digestive disorders
  • Pregnancy
  • Underweight
  • Malnutrition
  • Gastrointestinal Disorders
Some topics that may be discussed during your visits include: menu planning, recipe ideas, label reading, grocery shopping tips, food journaling, myth busting and mindful eating.

Scheduling Your Appointment

Patients interested in nutrition counseling should ask their physician for a referral to our dietitian. Your physician should fax the referral to Bristol Health Centralized Scheduling at 860.585.3743. The referral should include the reason for the visit (ICD-code) and any other pertinent information about your condition. After a referral is received, the Centralized Scheduling office will contact you to schedule your appointment.
